Dudes saying they’re “into real women” and then dating girls who weigh 90 pounds. And I know, blah blah blah, not all women have curves, blah blah blah, you can’t just say that a woman who is skinny is not “a real woman,” blah blah blah. Here’s the thing: I don’t give a fuck. You know what sucks? Being a size 8 and having men tell you you’re big.

You what else sucks? Being a size 8 and having men tell you you’re small. It’s like, you can’t win. You’ll always be judged. And, people will think they have the right to judge simply because I’m a woman and that’s the way things have always been and that’s crap. “Why don’t you put some meat on them bones, baby?” Why don’t you fuck off and die?

I’m not a fucking object.

Also, the one thing I hate about summer is that I really start to hate my body because it’s so on display. I start to feel as though I’m doing something wrong because of the comments, leering, and groping I face on a DAILY basis, even though I know that is not the case. I know that I have a right to look and dress the way I want to, that I have a right to dress in what makes me most comfortable in the heat (minus walking around nude) and yet I still feel guilty. I still think, Well, you certainly brought that upon yourself. Those shorts are rather short. That dress is rather tight. I hate the guilt and yet it seems to be unavoidable.

You know what REALLY sucks? Being concerned with this at all, letting other people’s opinions affect your self-esteem. And yet, and YET! At dinner, a friend says, “And then I was at the store and I barely fit into the size 6. I was gonna cry if I had to wear an 8,” and I’m all like, WTF that’s my size? How big do you think I am? Why the FUCK are you telling me this? Why is this making me upset? Why do I care?
